    u can try and plant the red plants at the back of the tank. It will give a better contrast.

    Hi guys thanks for the inputs again. Just a quick question, my current tank is 21 gallons and the general rule is 3 watts per gallon which is 63watts. My current light is 55watts won't the light be too low? Also considering the light tube are 6-8mths old it diminishes my watts doesn't it?

    still can plant, abit low might only unable to keep high demand plant. (example: HC)
    i am using T5HO 48 (24w x 2), default tubes 12000K, bought 30-05-10.

    Tubes do drop in lumen/par over time, one might only notice when algae grows faster then plant.
