Need some advice from the pros bros here. I just bought a branchy DW and had it boiled for almost an hour. My question is, boiling it will make it sink faster by getting rid of the trapped air inside but will it get rid of the tanins as well? Please advice. Thanx.

    3) Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him to fish n he'll go broke. Give him a boat and you'll get rid of him for the weekend.

Hence I guess that's why DWs are part of the cycling process also, right?

i use stone to weight down DW. i usually pour boiling water to kill any nasties as don't have a pot so big to put my DW.
for tanins, with regular WC it will be removed. assuming you regularly change water it should take sometime to clear

Cycling is build bb that is part of the nitrate process.
the worse part of trying to sink dw is having to see fungus or mould since they need some time to clear.

btw, my recent rescape of my outdoor tanks i didn't really see it leach tanins out as my WC regime is insanely high. (daily)
