Would like to check with any bro what is the PH most bro will get using ADA new Amozonia? I just setup a new 2FT tank using ADA new Amozonia as the base and with ADA fine soil as a top layer. Initially PH during the cycling stage was 5.6 - 6 PH 1 month ago. Recently I notice that my PH range is 6.4 when the lights are off and in the day it can hit 6.75 with the lights on. My tank is slightly planted and I keeping CRS, BDS, Pearl Blue and Aura Blue. Been trying to bring the PH down using Mosura PH down and Softwater but PH still goes back around 6.4-6.5 slowly. Any bro can advise is it normal?

My tank is made up of Pelia, Glossco, Taiwan Moss tied to BW, Mini Pelia and mini US Fessiden tied to rock(think its lava rock) and Japanese Hair grass, mini water lettuce, mini nana and golden nana as shown in the photo.

    Re: ADA soil PH

My old 2ft using ADA AmaII was 5.5pH during cycling and 6.6 +/- 0.2 pH once stable until it expired. With CO2 injection, it'll fall to 6.2.

What differences you are seeing during the lights on and off hours are likely attributed to the CO2 concentration changes, which changes the amount of carbonic acid in the water. As CO2 are used up by the plants, less carbon dioxide would be in the water and so pH rises.

Maybe because not everyone is using the same kit, meter or probe to measure pH. Unless all are calibrated against a common standards, there will always be variations.

    Hi Bro

I face the same issue as you. Using ADA new amazonia, during cycling was 5.6 now 6.3. I believe it is normal.

PH for planted tank will varies with the lights on so no worries it's normal.

Haha ok. Cause i always thought ADA soil will give a lower PH around 6. Seems like with the current PH i'm not able to keep any shrimps that required lower PH. Fated to keep CRS and not BKK already.
