I have to thank the people who invented this box because its really very handy and it can do many things for me I have used it to be my frogbits storeroom so they don't block light, and to house my hornworts so it is a nitrate eating box .and I used it to keep my excess biohome although flow rate not so good.what do you do to yours? Do share

If flow rate is not good enough you can attach a powerhead to the input tube. A weak one will do, then flow will be better.

If the lip of the output is on the same level as the water it should mitigate the flow. That's why I said, use a weaker powerhead. There are some small ones that suit this purpose, especially those with lower flowrates. It should not affect your soil if the depth of the tank is high enough.

I use it for the same purpose, housing 'spare plants'

Stormhawk, the satellite box uses an air tube. Are there small enough powerheads in the market that have output pipe small enough for that? Or is it the case of having to DIY?

The powerhead from the Eden 301/316 is small enough to fit. GEX has some mini powerheads, I forgot series name, that have a very low output. Diameter should be approximately the same.

See the e-Roka filters. I have the PF-201 and it's not exactly powerful. The pump head is small actually, probably not much bigger than the pump that comes with the GEX Slim HOFs

Remove the attachment to the air tube at the bottom of the airlift tube of the Satellite. May need to use a piece of rubber hose to attach them together, if necessary. Also, the grid at the airlift tube will clog over time, which annoys me. I got algae growing there.
