Help! Are my mollies giving birth soon?
How do I tell? Their bellies looks like they are going to explode soon~

I just transferred them to the breeding tank first...but I don't want to keep putting them there if they are not ready to give birth....

Indeed, the mollies look deceivingly pregnant. In such cases whereby the gravid spot is not obvious, observe their belly shapes and behavior. The females will have a consistent "exploding belly" all the time and not feeding or eat very little, increased aggression and tends to hide whenever possible. This is the time when you have to separate them as soon as possible.

Keep them in a tank densely stuffed with hardy plants such as Java fern, moss, anubias or maybe even riccia. Avoid breeding traps. It only stress them further and doesn't help a lot. With a densely planted tank, there's a chance of having fry which you could have missed out.
