you mean that the psi drop to 500. Actually can check the connection between the regulator and air hose.

I dip the hose connections under water to see if any bubbles are coming out anywhere.

if your tank is new, chances are that it was not fully filled when you got it. the tanks are only partially filled to check for leaks by the manufacturer.

to detect any leak, you'll need to apply soapy solution to all joints.

and this should be posted in equipment.

Not only check the joints. Should even check the tubing as well. Could have burst in some part too.

I think only joints are prune to leakage... maybe in the solenoid itself (if you using) is leaking... If other than joints leaks... at 1000psi, it will deflat like a balloon and you will hear loud hissing sound... Or you will have a CO2 tank flying inside your house! Not very funny!

Or as mention... the tank is not fully filled when you bought it, maybe it was in the shop for very long time... Just like Fire Extinguisher loosing it's pressure over time...

If you use bubble counter, check the joint between the tube and the counter. I even experienced leakage at the joint which I though was tight enough.

To make sure that there is no leakage, use white tape to tape around all joints.

tie a knot at the output tube, after the regulator.
turn on the main valve and observe the gauges' readings.
turn off the main valve, wait 24hrs and check the gauges' readings again.
there should be same else you have a leak.

to check if any leak after the regulator, dunk every item after the regulator into water.
