There is alot of small buys that will bring setup costs much higher. for a tank of 4 feet, 1 bag of aquasoil is simply not enough. co2 tank is not the only thing you will end up buying also.

Thank for reply, i have not been there before are they selling item cheaper over there? do anyone know where can i find good looking rock other then in LFS ?
the cheapest aqua soil is aqua concept soil. think is $20plus per bag. i'm using it for my 3ft tank, running for a yr, no problem at all.
You got what you paid for, no such this as cheap and goodbut different shop do have different prices for the same product.
Hmm...I agree with the rest, there is no "cheap" thingy. I think the focal point should be what is appropriate equipments, materials, etc.
Homework for you of course is to go through the list, now, you will find the links as North, East, etc. Click on them. But it doesn't stop there, just jotting down the notes on your smartphone, you need to go and visit each area and "see" then budget if need be; picking up items as you go. For those that you need but no money or want to get it later, you could snap a photo (Do ask the LFS for permission first), then post it to your FB (Facebook), where you can label the location and roughly how much. When you need to buy them, go back to your FB photo gallery, plan out your route of advancement, then buy it according to your plan.

You could even mock up first by drawing it out on a paper, use rubber okay? Give a rough idea on how you want to do it. From that point, stroke out with price and model/brand (if need be). I would prefer a systematic way of approach, so I am listing it out and see if you can consider it. There isn't much to touch on what is die die must do, more on preference; Do you like this? Do you want this? What if you get this, what is the effect on plants and fish? E.g. you buy a Super Light then only to find that it heats up a lot, then you would not want to get this light. (2), you like this soil type very much only to find out that the ph value differs from the fish and plants you want to get. (Note that there are smaller packets (palm size) ones, you can buy then test it by putting into disposable cups (cover to avoid mosquitoes) so that you can measure it later. : ) It's a hobby, so you can test as much as possible before the actual one.
For a 4 feet, you will need at least 5 bags of aqua soil
That would means:
aqua soil: $43*5 (ADA Amazonia)
T5HO 54*4: roughly $100(for a 4*1.5*2 feet deep)
Canister: $300++ for a tetra 120
CO2 set with solenoid: $238 (Qian Hu set)
Liquid fert: $37*3(ADA range)
Cheers!!
Can try c328 or nanyang seaview
You should also need a decent diffuser and pipings, either you DIY your inflow piping or you can just buy those Lily pipes. So do factor those items into your budget. If really not ready, just hold it back first.
for a heads up,
ADA 9L soil possible to get below 40 bucks at C328
sen_jie is correct, but if you buying few bags, look for auntie to bargain price lower. Eg. if total price is $200, tell auntie give me 150 I will buy all...hee hee, still got space to bargain somemore.
