    hi all

    anyone used the above before?
    would appreciate some feedback.

also for those using external filter, do you have charcoal as a media or do you replace it with something else.

    thanks

I am using a second hand Prime 10 in my 2-ft tank. It is quiet and quite well built. The flow rate is a little on the low side, but it's ok for me. So far I am quite please with it.

I do not use activated carbon. I added more bio-media instead.

Bio-media are media that is specifically designed to have large surface area for bacteria to colonise on. Examples are Eheim Ehfisubstrat, Sera Siporax, Hydor ceramic cylinder.

I use porus ceramic rings as bio-media after the coarse foam.
