    I need help here.

    Day 19 of tank -

    1. Hairgrass has been melting - Is this normal? Should I remove the dying leaves? However, I do note that there are new shoots coming up!

    2. Algae!!! Can someone identify this slimy brown looking thing?
I tried looking up on some sites... I think it does look like er...brown algae? Diatom?
    - What should I do!! It seems to get worse day by day..
    - Will this affect the new shoots? So far the new shoots seems to be unaffected though....but I'm worried that if it will, then I will have to manually remove them??
I got 1 oto and 2 zebra snails. Will they eat the algae?

dont think this has anything to do with the algae, but isnt 2ml of excel/iron daily too much for your tank size?
it actually looks like diatoms , had these when on my java moss once. i just rinsed them off.
i have no idea how are you going to do that. wait for more senior bros to help you out!

    Low tech tank FTW!

The fuzzy stuff looks like a serious case of fungi infestation. Manual removal might be best. I don't know what will eat these.

Temperature is too high which cause your hair grass to melt, add some root booster to help them got better

Your tank is only 19 days old. Change the water faithfully and remove as much decaying matter as you can. If you like, try using a comb to sift through the hairgrass to remove trapped decaying matter. And you mentioned new shoots... that's a great sign!
