I would do something like what this lady did, in Singapore or more likely Malaysia.
One pertinent point she made is that land clearing has tremendous impact on the microclimate on surrounding natural growth, allowing erosion, alien species, weather fluctuations and human activity to affect the untouched forest nearby.
