But if you do it in Malaysia, you gotta be prepared to share your estate with Orang Asli, who could be hunting down your bower bird!

I would do something like what this lady did, in Singapore or more likely Malaysia.
One pertinent point she made is that land clearing has tremendous impact on the microclimate on surrounding natural growth, allowing erosion, alien species, weather fluctuations and human activity to affect the untouched forest nearby.
