I had the same question previously. After lots of researching, I would believe they are known as pink convict cichlids. Too late, I kept them with tetras and guppies and sakuras. Heavy casualties. I removed the cute pikachus after that.

Yah, I lost my Angel Fish too. Thanks to it.
Googled about the fish and found this old thread. Same here too. Saw the fish at fish store which labeled as "Pikachu Fish". Wife says it's cute.Originally Posted by Stitch

That is the problems with alias names that LFS gives. All will associate Pikachu as the cute little yellow rodent in the hit cartoon series Pokemon....based on what I have read on this thread, turns out to be a Pink Terror....

Are these fishes being injected with dye to make them pink?
I'm not too sure about this. Tried to googled about the pikachu fish and can't really find any information about their body colour. However, these fishes looks very similar to the Convict Cichlid. So it may be probable that they are injected with dye.
