    Re: ice probe

Based on various sources, I guess the best place to try is this:

    Eido Services
    1 Queensway #03-05
    Queensway Shopping Centre
    Singapore 149053
    T :6472 9266
If you do get one, please counter post what is the price please. I would love to see this in operation. It's for 2ft tanks and below.
Best if you can get the Operation Hours too.

do u know if they are still operating?
Some of the information span from 2003-2007. Along this timeline, a lot of shops closed down. Hence, it is not possible to trace every source. With this lead gone, the only option is to search online and order. If you do not have a credit card, try applying a debit card instead. But...you might wanna try later again say 11am-3pm. Just to be sure.

However, if you are diligient enough, try searching through google again, maybe salt water ones they might still have sources in singapore....hopefully. If you are thinking about hot seasons, well...we are half a year ahead of normal. The so call heat wave is man made from Sumatra so to speak. Recent one is due to Northern Thailand Forest Fire. (You don't cough for no reasons right?) Season are tilted off scale at the moment.

    Meantime, you can read this.

One of several online stores based in Singapore that still have these IceProbe units. Note, you have to drill a hole in the glass/acrylic to fit in the probe. It might be more practical to get a Dolphin mini-chiller instead, since they both work on the same Peltier effect that utilises TEMs aka thermoelectric modules.

    Consider cost, chiller better.

One reminder, match the chiller to the flowrate of the filter and vice versa.

    Re: ice probe

Bro, too bad...but question now, you going to give up or you can explore more options:

    1. Goto Marketplace and ask who willing to let go theirs.
    2. Goto online to order. (Need Temp Controller as well, remember this)
    3. Explore DIY Chiller
    http://www.instructables.com/id/diy-chiller/
    4. Use fan.

So how? Ask yourself, which path do you wanna explore or do you have better options beside the above? : ) That's the fun of this hobby.

i will probably stick to fan. it's ok, but evaporation rate is very high. it's actually for my mini-reef marine tank. my two freshwater planted tanks are w/o any form of cooling.

    Re: ice probe

Okay, there are several DIY Chillers Design involving CPU, so you can search for DIY Chiller CPU as well. You are not constraint to just one design and you might be able to source out people who actually knows how to do it IF you have not the know-how to proceed. So I think you still can explore this avenue.
