Yes... A proper cycling is very important...
Must learn to keep water before keep shrimps... Hahaha...

Based on this, the shrimps inside might suffer GH or TDS shock... Distilled water is GH0 or TDS0... So after doing this kind of water change, I believe TS parameter will drop lower in GH and TDS... Which his GH is already at 3 currently based on what he said...

    Everyone has different cycling process..

For me: from day 1, I just let the tank cycle (filters running without chiller) for 4 weeks... Then I do a water change of about 30% and leave it cycling again for 3 days then test water for my required parameter.. Do another small water change of 10% and 1 day later add in commandos shrimps... Shrimps if ok for 1-2 weeks, then the rest of my shrimps go in...
But that is for me... Different shrimp keepers has different ways of doing their cycling, some will do water change from the day they add in soil until the day they add in shrimps..

Just keep in mind, as long as the way you are doing cycling or reset is ok and shrimps doing fine, don't need to bother so much or start having itchy hand...

bro Alvin that is what i did. Initially everything was okay for my rili shrimp. Then i added in few crs and rili starTed to die one after another.. after my rili then my crs start to die. Really at lost now.

Hmmm.... What another keeper is doing might not be optimal for another keeper...

Maybe you can explain what you did from the set up till the end of cycling to see if there is anything which you did that might have gone wrong? A full tank shot might be good also as some stuff in the tank might leech slowly and not shown in the initial parameter testing..

    You can PM me too..

    Happy shrimping....

    Re: Crs sos

    Hi guys

I am having a 2 feet tank too .. Change water using a big bottle of distilled water and everything is pretty alright .. My CRS kept having little shrimplets and they are doing fine .. The only thing i observe is that the PH do change suddenly like from 6.3 to 6.5 or higher but will stable down after a few days .. So probably your shrimps are not used to it .. I would suggest that there maybe a possibility that the batch of shrimps you got is a poor batch .. Not said it is for sure .. But keep it as an possible reason .. Therefore any attempt to make things right may in the end, result more death .. From my personal experience, when i saw a crs died, i thought my water was bad and decided to do funny things like shifting pH or doing 30% water change .. In the end, more died and i decided not to do anything .. Now everything is good and my crs are berried. Baby shrimplets are swimming around . My christmas moss have alot of algae but i am cool with it .. Yup .. Just let them get use to it .. Dont shock them anymore ..

    My 2 cents worth

The best course of action now is to add active carbon somewhere. Either in your canister or HOF. I think there may be some contamination in your water causing this. See if this helps. Remember to read the instructions on when you should replace the active carbon..
I have added in active carbon on last Saturday and now everthing seem to be fine. Will have to monintor further. Thanks bro Ecalyte for your suggestion.

That's what i am thinking.. Do not panic when i see my shrimp flip again. Just let the nature take it's course. Hope they will survive and doing fine from now on..
