I dose two tablets(dymax brand ) in my tank to help my mini Fiss that is currently cycling for my shrimps.
Then the next day the water turn slightly cloudy and when the tablet dissolves it leaves a whit residue at my soil. So is it the co 2 too high at cause bacteria Boom or my tablet expire already? I just bought at c328 yesterday. Plants pros please help

Cannot ans about the C02 tablet. Seriously if you intend to supplement the setup with CO2, a CO2 cyclinder + solenoid valve and regulator + electronic timer and diffuser is what you should get.

I never kept mini Fissiden before, so not sure if it requires CO2 in the first place. Anyway with those tablets, how would you regulate the amount of CO2 in the water column, which should be around 30ppm max.

Save up if you think the CO2 setup I mentioned seems expensive initially. Once you acquire the equipment, to top up costs only $15 for every 3mths to 6mths depending on size of cylinder and amount you use based on your tank size.

Furthermore once you fine tune the amount of CO2 dose, you won't ever need to fiddle with it anymore. This will allow you to enjoy your hobby instead of the need to remember when to dose those tablets.

Cloudiness could be because your tank is cycling. You could provide details of your setup and how long since you started cycling.

Yes you are correct. CO2 tablet should be dissolved totally in the water you intended to replace in your case. In a normal non saturated water environment, it will not cause any cloudiness. But if it is totally saturated it will create this milky like thingy. How do you test? You can drop 1 tablet in a normal aquarium tank which is not Co2 intensive, it dissolve totally. Now take a plastic see through cup, put water, put in Co2 tablet, cover it and observe the next day, the milky strain drags itself if the water moved.
