Bro not doubting you, just checking as the rules for handcarry and shipping in are different if I remember correctly.I would be very interested if you're bringing in apistos too!
chongyu
I think for handcarry, your total amount of water must not exceed X amount of litres and as for shipping, you need to get someone with the import and export license issued by AVA to clear the package out from the customs for you. My Adoketas came from the latter route.
You got lobang then hurry up go breed some goodies for us. ^^ I love to raise fishes from babies then train them to be a fighter. My previous LuoHan and arowana both riased from young. In the case of Luohan, I bought 3, their nature had that they would kill off each other (I didn't know then), so left the strongest one which I feed meat and use my fist to train it to bite. But it still lost to my arowana. : P Imagine, fighter apisto! Hee Hee...
Strong offspring. Good for next generation breeding. Inter-breeding will cause the genre to weaken, so crossing wild ones to strengthen the genre. As genre keeper.
Why sharks survive from Dino-age until now? Sharks usually give birth to 1-3 babies yeah? No. Mama sharks have more than that. But at birth, in the mama's womb, they started to kill each other off hence resulting in lesser offspring, but each of them is killer by nature. It ensure that the specie survive, and it did. I do not think this is about cruelty, this is nature, survival of the fittest.
Sharks and apistos are 2 different thing... I understand from your point of view the fittest survive. But in apisto natural environment, apistos siblings do not kill each other. They get killed by other fishes. Maybe put some tetras in the tank so that the smarter and bigger ones dont get eaten. Natural way of "surviving of the fittest" instead of putting them together and see them kill each other. Apistos are not, and will not, be like the sharks that kill the other siblings off to survive, even though it means the extinction of the species. And killing each other will not strengthen the inter-breeding.
BTW I really dont think apistos can kill each other when they are young. Just not their nature. Unless they are mature and in a "non-natural-man-made-small-small-tank-which-allows-no-space-for-the-weaker-males-to-hide'", will they get beaten to death. So your idea seems non-nonsensical to me
On Aquabid, do not order live fish in because Customs will seize it without proper documentation. If you don't have an importer's license or know a transhipper who can handle the paperwork for you, do not do it. You risk a possible hefty fine among other things. Shippers from the USA may not be willing to work directly with you, especially if they are normal home breeders who do not want to go through the hassle of international shipment. Should you take this route, the whole cost of shipment may be quite insane.
If you ask me, it's far cheaper to take a budget flight to Hong Kong or Taiwan, and buy back the apistos on your own.
The lists are old but still active and form a purpose. At least you will be able to see what people used to have, and currently have, judging by recent updates. I will not make another sticky since the other two are still active.
Fish.. Simply Irresistable
Back to Killies... slowly.
I am wondering about offspring killing for apisto. Not so much direct killing, still reading at the moment and since chilids class, would they be of similar nature like lion. Ya...the thought crossed my mind, I take your input for ref. But I required to process more data before jumping in, tempting but not tempted. no worries.
