    Hi guys,
would like to ask how frequent should we change filter medias? Or is it don't have to change? I'm using eheim 2215 with eheim mech and substrate pro?
    Thanks

Filter medias will start to breakdown and clog after sometime. I would change my medias once I see some breaking down.

    Re: Filter media replacing

A good rinsing in old tank water is all you need to do. Don't have to change or replace the media unless it is the fine filter pad. Having a pre-filter over your intake pipe, like a sponge pre-filter, cuts down on the maintenance for the filter media itself. All you need to do is to maintain the pre-filter whenever it clogs. Turn off the filter, rinse the pre-filter at your tap or with old tank water and replace it back on the intake pipe then turn the filter back on.
