    Hi folks,

I use aluminium foils to consolidate the lights in my 2 ft tank (lamps already have built-in reflectors) but they soon turned dull and obviously less effective. What type of material and where can I get them which I can cut and bent easily myself to refocus the remaining lights onto the plants ?

    Thks.

    Cheers,
    Peter

Thks mate but I'm looking for pieces of shiny metal to cut up and stick around the black plastic area of my hood to optimise reflection. It already has a built-in reflector.

hmm... try mirror. Best reflector. Reflect every single photon. can get from glass shop pretty cheaply (but get the thin glass one).

Use old useless CDs, esp those that you burn with CDRW but ended up spoilt

    go to a light shop.

Ask for normal reflectors for FL lights.

they are flat and come in different broadness and can be bent easily and neatly.

Geeze ... thks guys ! I'm amazed by all the innovations you guys can come up with ... mirrors and used CDs. I'm thinking of cutting up used biscuit containers but it is quite a hassle.

What are the light shops that sell reflector material ? I don't think an average HDB lightshop will carry these right ? Thks very much.

I've got this piece of aluminium material (it's rollable, like aluminium foil, but much thicker) which i ripped out of my light set.... If u wan, u can have it, but it's only for a 2ft light set. Dimension's abt 20" by 6".
