I am running an eheim 2213. Have noticed that the hoses and pipes and the rain bar is starting to have brown things on the walls. I think it's algae. Is there anyway to stop this or prevent this? Afraid it would clog up the hoses and pipes.

Most common way is clean it with pipe cleaner. It's a brush attached to a long metal string or rod.
Other ways include
using bleach (you will need to flush until no bleach smell else you may danger livestock).
Insert a nerite snail in the pipes.
Only applies IF you can fit them in and it does slow down flowrate.
Last way and most powerful way.
Buy new tubes
Learning the hardway, not the highway.

Oh alright. Thanks guys. Wasn't sure cause I have alot of difficulty disconnecting the hoses from te pipes.
Anyway can I ask of any of you have tried star moss? I just got some from Seaview. The star moss is wrapped by a net over some larva rocks and pebble looking rock. After getting them I came home and read that star moss doesn't do well in aquariums and just dies after a few weeks. Is that true?
Yeah my star moss died in 2 weeks. It's actually a terrestrial moss. You can ask more about this under the aquatic moss section though.

the big issue with that is if your not using rainbar, the little fella will find it's way out & using a big one blocks my outflow too much.
now i have something inserted to my outflow to narrow it, every now and then i put my larger ones in to clear the piping.
