Guys... I use eheim 2217 in my 3ft tank. However the outflow is too strong for the plants. It is a bit like storm inside . Do you guys have any idea to fix this? Anyway, I connect the outflow to the mini reactor then straight to the tank.

    Thx

how about adding a valve to control the flow?

Brand of the valve is Eheim...... costs $15/piece, you will need two pieces. That's what the guy at Petmart (Serangoon North Ave 2, Tel:62896471) quoted me for Eheim 2213. Dunno if the same valve can use.
Another purpose of the valve is to facilitate cleaning of canister.

you can try connecting the output of the reactor to a spray/rain bar. this will reduce the output pressure.

if you are using a valve to control the flow, do it at the filter output, not at the filter input. else you'll reduce the lifespan of you pump motor.

You can see a diagram of the double-tap connector at this page http://www.eheim.com/technik_zubehoer.htm

Oh That valve... the one that is very useful for cleaning... i have them... i got them for free when I bought the filter. Anyway I try to adjust the outflow using the valve but my filter starting to make a noise so I stopped.

    Is that normal?

I tried this one and almost perfect. I think im going to drill more holes in it. Thanks guys

Anyway does any of u have a pic of ur 2217 setup? Thanks

does the noise sound like guggling?
most likely there is some air in your filter. the filter will clear the air after a short while. no worries.

MAKE SURE you're reducing the OUTflow, not the INflow

    is the water still flowing?
sounds like the impeller is free spinning.
rock the filter a few time to clear any air pocket while the filter is running.
then try to reduce the outflow again.

I would not suggesting using valve, it may spolit the filter! Y dun u get a a valve to split the flow?

you can get a splitter to direct the output to two separate outputs.

    Thx guys
Is my filter too big for my 3 ft tank. I've counted that my tank is abt 200l and my 2217 is for up to 600 tank. Should i downgrade my filter.
I havent seen any pearling yet but my plants is growing their roots.

    Plz kindly advice

    Yes, to divert the flow!

It would be gd to use a powerful filter but make sure that u do not use a spray bar to cause loss of co2!
