First things first, what type of planted tank you looking at? High/low tech? Plant List? Dosing any ferts/CO2? Listing them in detail will help to determine your light. Typically, 11 Watts is enough to grow most low light plants such as moss but of course the plant list is limited with that light range.

Should be more than enough, unless you want to grow algae

    Jason,
Use the AQ Calculator to do it.
    Step 1
Punch in your figures in 1.
    Step 2
Goto 2. Light Calculator, get from tank calculator, enter 11w x 1 nos. You should get 1.5wpg. It is pretty low. 3wpg is a good guide. Doubling your light would be 2.9wpg. (watt per gallon)

    Hi Jason,

11watts PL light is ok for the plants you choose. They are low requirement plants.

    Cheers
