jbl co2 test kit

anyone used the jbl co2 test kit before?
hope to get some comments on it, thanks

I am using JBL CO2 kit. It is just like a normal test kit except for its "permanent". Means you stick it in your tank and watch for the color indicated.

I ever once get a yellow reading (low in O2) when I change the "liquid".. Naturally, I reduced the CO2 injected. But after a week, it still shows yellow. I decided to change the "liquid" and immediately it shows deep-green.

My conclusion, just another tester that needs to be test weekly as a reference.

The reading will also be affected by other factors such as peat or additives that alters the KH.

I suggest not to waste your money on that kit and stick to the CO2 table, unless you fancy the plastic container sticking in your tank.

for a good balance, the jbl co2 test liquid should be deep green?

also you reckon it'll be better if i have a separate kh and ph test kit to measure the co2?

Maybe I should be more specific about the color indicator.

Light-green-yellow -> High in CO2
Green-dark green -> OK range
Blue-dark blue -> Low in CO2

As indicate in the manual.

Since KH and PH test kits are almost considered "must have" items for most of us, and we can derive CO2 easily from the table with the 2 values we have. Why do we want to spend on the CO2 kit which is eventually not that accurate either?
