hmm, for me if you're not going into planted tank OHF is sufficient. easy to maintain, cheap and can stack quite a few of basket to house media.

Lol, I do not know the reason why you left out HOF, since you seem to have only preferred OHF (Overhead Filters) or Canister Filters.
If it is deliberately left out, then I suppose all my posts about the merits of HOF (Hang-On Filters) would have gone to waste. Well, I suppose it is meant to be that way, but I have no regrets posting those. lol.![]()

Tank dimension?
What you have in mind for that tank?
And ya man, why no HOF? LOL. I have a Fluval C4 (got mech, bio and chemical filtration)and Eheim Canister. For HOF, ask tetra. He can provide good advice on them. =)

That Fluval C4 is one of the best hang-on filters I've seen. If I don't have any, I would have bought it immediately without any second thought, lol.
By the way can you tell me the W (power) rating on the box? I believe it must be above 6W?
I would like to add that if you're using OHF especially the transparent type, the one that you can stack a few layers on top of each other..... Use black oyama sticker and stick around the sides of the casing to prevent any light from getting onto your medias. Alot of times i see people not covering the sides and after some time the algae start growing onto the medias and competing with the BBs for surface area. Not good in my opinion.

Guessing you're using the Eheim HOF? Chose Fluval for HOF after watching review from youtube.
But everytime, I hear the brand Fluval, I keep wanting to slap myself. Too anxious, did not check market properly, I jump and bought the C4 from LFS. 2 days later while checking out another LFS for rocks, found one C4 being sold, it's 30-35% cheaper.
Learn from me. Don't jump into a purchase without doing your homework first. It's not an excuse even for a noob like me! Haha.
Oops, almost forgot, I'll let you know the W when I get back home.

It is always a good practice to compare prices. How much did you pay for it? 30-35% difference is just too much, perhaps 5-10% will be all right. It does make customers feel very sad to know after buying that they have paid too much for it. But sometimes, shops employees do make price-tagging mistakes. It can happen.

@ tetrakid, as mentioned in PM. It is my fault "bah". Buyer too excited to get it asap. Did so much reading and watching videos but failed in checking on pricing. First LFS comes along and I jump straight away. Hehe.
@ sheristopher, how bro? made up your mind?
