    Hello,

Would appreciate it if I can get some feedback on this chiller. Will be using it on my 3ft tank and I may have plans to upgrade to a 4ft in future. I'm using an Eheim ProII 2026 with a flowrate of 950L/hr.

    More info @ http://www.hailea.com/english/shuizu/hl260ca_d.htm

Is this chiller gd enough and also, is Hailea a reliable brand?

How much roughly will this chiller cost and where can I purchase it from?

    Tks

I'm using the HL 880CA (220vac) ... the same one as Teo's, for about a year now. I find the operations is simple and is reliable, as it has not given me any problem at all (touch wood).

You mentioned, if the equipment is suitable for your usage. That, I believe it largely depends on your required temperature setting. But one must know that the chiller would conceived more on your utilities bill (also depends on the frequency the compressor cuts in and the HP of your chiller to the water volume to cool).

Next you must ...and I mean must find a suitable place for the chiller to ventilate (read the manual).

The cost of a 1/4 HP Hailea will be at the region of upper $200s... I believe I've seen one at Teo's ...or issit a 1/8HP ?

You may wanna check that out.

    Cheers

    Re:

How much increase did you notice in yr utility bills after using the chiller?

I plan to set my temp at 26-27, will be leaving the chiller outside so that the warm air can escape.

I have a 6' x 2.5' x 2.5' tank chilling to a constant 26 deg C. Also note that I have 3 x 150 watts MH light ON for an interval of 6 and 3 hours daily. Have not notice the chiller only utilities bill. But having 3 tanks and only me, my wife and a dog. My bill is about $190 to $230 monthly.

The cost of your utilities largely base on your chiller HP. The smaller the compressor the lesser the wattage would be used (basing on the fact that the water to chill is not overwhelming for a 1/4 HP). If you're using a 1/4HP for 26 deg C (you have not mentioned about your water volume), I would assume that the water volume will be reasoable for the chiller's model, it would be at the region of about $10-$15 monthly.

    Cheers
