Hi silane, in your years of breeding shrimp, have you come across the infamous white spot disease that shrimps in aquaculture face?
Just curious?

I have heard a lot about white spot disease, and has been watching out of pattern of deaths for early detect this disease. AVA of Singapore request all shrimps imported to Singapore to have this disease checked and certified disease free by their veternary departent. A few weeks ago I was discussing with some large scale breeders on this topic also, the conclusion was todate, non of us has outbreak. This disease should be able to be found on shrimps, and apparently not affecting on caridina and neocaridina, no official record outbreak so far, statistic gotten from Taiwan big farms. This disease affect "white prawn" and species of prawn intended for food purpose, outbreaks happen.

Thanks alot for the reply, it is very enriching to know more about such stuff. It might be a problem for someone who face this disease with their ornamental shrimps.

I have 1 more thing to add on from what bro silane taught me. if you have green/brown or purple aglae on your glass, you can use filter wool to clean it. As it catch the algae that is scrap off.

I find this method better than normally what we use, card.
