I just got ten Blue Pearls from a seller on here. I'm hoping these guys will grow into a nice population.

Originally this was supposed to be just an easy breeding tank for these little guys, but it turned into something a little bit more than that. I decided to actually try a serious attempt at a fully planted tank. I used Ancharis to hide the sponge filter, Jungle Val for the center backdrop and Water Wisteria to take up the rear left corner.

For the foreground, I put in Dwarf Chain Swords and what was given to me as "hydrocotyle sp japan" but I've been doing a bit of research and I think this is actually hydrocotyle tripartita... Correct me if I'm mistaken.

Lighting is an old 10 gallon tank top that has dual incandescent fixtures. I'm using 50/50 CFLs for this. I'm hoping that this will be low light enough to make the hydrocotyle grow closer to the bottom than towards the top like it did in my 40 gallon medium-to-high light tank.

Everything was taken as clippings, so hopefully this tank will fill in nicely. No Co2 is planned except for liquid ferts like Flourish and possibly root tabs.

Sorry for the poor quality, it's just a camera phone.

Bro, I am not sure by using a single source light point is the way to go. Your plants seems to be searching for the lights and bending towards it. Maybe you need to get light that are more even out across he tank and reduce the intensity and number of hours instead. The plants would then grow up right.

The other light bulb was broken when I bought it but I didn't know. I'm going to replace the light bulb as soon as possible. There will be another light on the other side.

This tank was just set up three days ago and I angled the plants like that. The pictures were taken right after I was done setting everything up. Once everything grows in, the rear should have a nice backdrop and the front foreground should be covered.

    Nice... Keep it up.

As you are using an E27(?), monitor the plants if the node are getting further apart. If that is the case, it is a sign that your light is not strong enough.

E27? Are you talking about the light?

Thanks. I'm not sure if they're really that blue or not because the 50/50 CFL screw-in lights give off a very blue light compared to my other tanks' lights and it's washing the real color out in the BPS...
