I am confused and need help on this:

    I have 1X T8 38 Watts Fluorescent in a 4 feet tank (200 Liters/ 50 Gallons)
It is underwater, 1 feet away from substrate.

Is it a low, med or high lighting tank?

    Thanks

    Hi koga,

    Imo, Low to mid lighting.
Check with you how old is it? With age the tube will decay and lumen output will drop.

Btw, never used the underwater lights before. Can the tube be changed?

    Regards

    Re: Lighting

I would say it is low lighting for a 50G. Since it underwater, you would have to stick it to the glass so some of the light will be block and won't be spreading efficiently.

    Re: Lighting

It has been about 6 months. Yea it can be changed. Probably will change to a T5, it seems better.
Looks like I will have to stick to low light plants.

    Thanks everyone for the information.
