    Dear All,

apologies on the lack of updates.. been very busy at work.

so far so good, no casualties!! but the berried fire yellow and blue rili seems to kick off their eggs before mature... but, three weeks later, i found some shrimplets!! ok three all different colours, i wonder who is their mummy...

Hi rascal, the CRS Haven soil seem good to me. it's the only soil i tried so far, about three months using it already, no problems at the moment kept buffer PH at 6 which is same as the distill water i use..

This shrimplet looks like brownish-transparent. unknown mummy.

    20120625_124538.jpg

This has a blue tint transparent, i think mummy is Blue Rili... (next to it, so sweet)

And third one looks like mini normal red rili.

I think all three belongs to Blue rili as her eggs were most mature looking last month..

oh btw i have separated all non Crimson shrimps into another container since last update, and remove all the fishes (because i became paranoid and scare the fishes scare the shrimps and eat the shrimplets)...

And I got three Crimson from Bai on 11 th May, which are so beautiful and still surviving ) they are the three shrimps from the background. sorry for the blur picture.

    20120608_182217.jpg

however, i got itchy hands and went to buy two plants from a well know serangoon north shop and now i got mini snails in my tanks and clusters of white spotty transparent mucus among my moss. Sad.. removed the plants and also the moss. my shrimps used to love munching in between the moss.. now they only got 10 strands of moss. hahahs.

Re: Second attempt at CRS tank in the office!

    Dear AQ, good morning.

I have a problem. One of the berried mummy gave birth over the weekends (spotting less than five shrimplets now though).

However, this mummy the colours seems to be fading like badly since this week and it has been tilting to one side... The tummy area still seems to be bloated though no more eggs there. She looks weak and yet aggressive (to nearby shrimps, like she will spring up suddenly then tilt one side).

Is she dying? Or is it just a case of post natal troubles (chan hou you yu zhen)? Should I quarantine her in the small breeder box? What should I do now? ((((

    20120703_100549_1.jpg

see her colour fade till so weak... (

Would it have something to do with the water parameters? There's only one such shrimp exhibiting such symptoms, unless the rest that are in the tank also show such signs.

At least check to be safe. Anything wrong with this suggestion? Or what do you think could have been the problem, there are many factors that may be a root cause. I am just advising him to check the water parameter, if reading is acceptable then think about other causes.

Similar to humans ,shrimps sometimes do not live till their expected lifespan(water parameters, weaker genes, stress from holding the eggs etc etc can be the reasons) ..

Re: Second attempt at CRS tank in the office!

Dear All, thanks for help.. she is motionless sobs, just took her out into a new container, at least she will die with dignity and she left behind some shrimplets... I think she was tormented with other male shrimps after she released eggs over the weekends.

    20120702_192556.jpg
Her offspring.. like a speck of soil size.

The other shrimps seems normal, sometimes very active, sometimes very quiet. Stripey mummy is still swimming around with the eggs dangling. Another whitey mummy been less active and more hiding, hopefully she is just resting and waiting for eggs to hatch.

Stripey mummy which is quite active.

    Let's see some happier photos...

I love the blue, its colour is sometimes pale sometimes richer.. Is this a confirmed Blue Rili? i think Blue Rili looks very similar to Blue pearls..
