Hi leefhker, i dont use any ferts. I dose one pinch of ADA BACTER 100 whenever i change water (10-15%) and half a pump of CRS Haven BacterMax. This routine i have been doing since start of tank.
No casualties for two months except the initial ones.
Currently other shrimps seems normal. Sourcing around for food slowly.
Office foc distilled water as per start too.
Alpheus..
Does dosing one pinch of ADA BACTER 100 and half a pump of CRS Haven BacterMax = re-mineralizing?

The whitey mummy with a weird wide spilt head this morning.

She was still mingling with the rest at 10 plus... the one at left background...

And found dead at 11 plus, with some eggs that have eyes![]()
Thanks Seudzar! I have just scrapped all the eggs lightly off the mummy. She felt like she was bleeding, gosh like so cruel. Some of the babies eggs seems like still-borns, meaning the look like a shrimp already but life less![]()

made shift net taped to the tank.
Counted about 5 eggs... but dont know if they are all dead![]()
Your water parameters look perfectly alright. From the pic of your death mama shrimp, the transparent band on the neck looks like it failed to molt properly. Maybe, the shrimp is not molting regularly before you got it in your tank.
Thanks for highlighting! I have been assuming that Bacter100 is the all in one powder mix the CRS tank needed. And this means that they have no minerals for past two months
Have went to buy two mineral powder last night and added one tiny spatula of each mix. I hope they feel better now.

I didnt control the net level very well and one of the shrimp crawled into the net and ate the eggs upI think he ate it, and tried crawling out in the morning. I helped him out. SIGHS
The third and only healthy mummy released her eggs over the weekends.. but I think there was a power failure over the weekend and am not sure if she released all her eggs maturely or kicked off out of stress
I have spotted some mini shrimplets though, amongst the first batch shrimplets (~6 ones?) which are about 2 weeks old now..
hope they all survive!!
Just saw an orangey worm attached to my shrimplet and the shrimplet sprung up (with the wrom still attached to it). The worm is even longer than my shrimplet.
I manually separated them and let the shrimplet back into the tank. but it just sank to the bottom slowly, lifeless and within one min, an adult came and ate it. sobs. It was a beautiful piece, with potentially more white![]()
What is this worm and is it dangerous? Should I be worrying now?
