horrors of all horrors!!!
I saw something crawling on the soil and onto my branch. It was whitish looking, like centipede. Super long. I totally freaked out. GOSH. Asked my male colleague to get it out for me. Thank God for male colleagues!!!
The smaller one I caught the other day looks like this, but is only 2 cm. And maybe without the spikes.
This one here, is a broken piece, its rear was thrown away, i cannot bear to look at it. Goosebumps. So technically speaking, this is the other half body. I think it is about 10 - 15 cm (***) full length.
I wonder if this worm is common and how it grew so long and huge? Can it multiply? (I cant bear the thoughts of having more of these in the tank, I am so freaked out still I think I might give up on shrimping)
I dont feed live food to my shrimps. I think the worm might have eaten my shrimplets, they are disappearing by the days.

Aspiring to be.

Back again, after a traumatic experience with the bristleworm last month. I think there are more hiding in the soil.
And I found another dead berried shrimp the next few days. Didnt know she was berried but when other shrimps were attacking it, I saw some eggs on her belly and also a cluster of those brownish eggs near her body. LE SIGHS. My second favourite shrimpI have a feeling that some thing / other shrimps keep attacking the berried ones, WHY?
So I am left with 2 striped and 1 whitish adults now. And the shrimplets have grown much bigger since the last time. I counted 8 pieces. Hopefully they survive!!

An almost completed happy family. Quite happy family I think.

The Fire Yellow is berried again. I bought her when she was berried but she didnt make it to hatching her eggs. So its confirmed that the other one is a male. woohoo.

The one and only one Blue Rili. Is berried 0.O Does Fire yellow and blue rili cross breed? The eggs look yellow enough. And seems like bursting out, like overloaded.

Pair of mummies communicating. I suspect the father is the same. One has always twice the amount of eggs as compared to the other one.
Hope their pregnancy is smooth and no more cannibalization from fellow shrimps.

Bro zibbie, yellow does cross with rili. They belonged to same family tree.
Most likely, you will get the wild form in the coming offsprings.
how old are the shrimplets already? from the pictures they look more like juveniles already...
ehh and when a berried shrimp die there could be many reasons.. you will usually see shrimps attacking another when it is about to die/dead already.. so it is not because they attacked it then it dies(mama shrimps are actually quite fierce during conflicts as observed from my own tank)..

eh I think they were hatched since late Jun.. so two months max?
actually the last dead mummy has been very healthy, walking around with her eggs, strong colours too. But dead the next day, with the eggs clustered nearby, super saddening.
She was the only one who didnt 'lak sek' (lose colour) during berried.
I think my water parameters suck, because the CRS colours seems to be fading off as they grow older.

Caught the bugger myself this time round. So proud of myself *gives myself a pat on the shoulder.

This yellow mummy is so fertile. She just released her babies last week and she is berried again.
This morning when I saw her, she was still empty but after lunch, TADA, all the eggs parked nicely at the under belly.

How I wished I have a shrimp like this one of yours. My shrimps were berried from the LFS. Either they dropped their eggs or given birth to the shrimplets (which I am still trying to find), now no more berried shrimps liao.Waiting and waiting and waiting... I want to see berried shrimps!!
