    Hi all,

I'm still a newbie in shrimp keeping starting this hobby only last year Sep. Did many mistake along the way and lost some shrimps.

Finally decided to upgrade my tank to 1.5ft on Dec last year, due to tank in bedroom so couldn't afford to put bigger tank. Added shrimp in end Jan but shrimps keep dying every few days. Finally tank became stable in March but disaster happen!
My nephew came to my house when i'm not home and only to know from my Mum that she stopped him when she saw him stirring and netting my shrimp.

He nearly wipe out all my shrimp (include some very nice shrimp that i bought from some nice bro here). so sad..

This is my initial tank setup.

    tank shot after 1st rescape

Some shrimp pic before being wipe out

After most of my shrimp being wipe out, only left 5 Crs and 1 Bds. I've decided to do another rescape to make it as simply as possible and added in some snowball and golden shrimp.

Thanks everyone for viewing. Please feel free to comment.
Still looking for more Crs and snowwhite to add in but cant find LFS that sell snowwhite. Had try searching y618,c328,GC,petsmart and called Crs Heaven but don't have. sigh.

Welcome to AQ Zack Goh. It's a pity your nephew was being a naughty kid, but kids will always be kids. You should ask his parents for compensation.. just joking.

Nice shrimp you have there. By the way, your last pic and the second last was the same, so I edited your post since the image links were done incorrectly.

No prob, the linking can be a bit confusing. I usually use photobucket to host pics.

Anyway, ugly tank or nice tank doesn't matter as long the shrimps happy and reproducing.

Nice and simple sorry to hear your nephew did that. There since to shortage of shrimps in market don't understand why but that I notice for sometimes almost around this time last year was the same. You might want to consider approaching some
Of the breeder. If not than just wait out for stock. Happy shrimping and welcome to shrimp playground

Very nice decent setup. Enjoy the stay and try to avoid all the poison at all costs.

    Haha.

The stirring must be intense to wipe out your shrimps!

Are you using a reverse under-gravel filter? I'm curious how you managed to achieve 24.6 degrees temperature...are you using a chiller or a fan?

I'm not sure what's a reverse ugf but I'm connecting my canister filter to the ugf, is this call reverse ugf?
I don't have any chiller as tank in my room so scare that the noise and heat will wakes me. I've aircon at night and using fan when I'm at work. So the temperature will be around 24-26.

I went down yesterday but only see golden shrimp. Or are golden and snowwhite the same? My understanding is snowwhite is more white right? Or because of their gene? Sorry for asking noob question.

I don't think snowball and snow-white are the same. I bought my snowball at GC. There's quite a number there and also you get to choose.

Re: Sharing my ugly shrimp tank

Snowball and Snow White is different. Snow White is a higher grade golden shrimp. Golden shrimp have yellowish tinted body, wherelse the Snow White have thicker whiter colored body. Hope the below picture can help you understand better.

    Snowball

    Snow white

    Golden Shrimp
