[quote:cf085ba5a9="spilopterus"]Okie guys, I've contacted Andrew, the guy in charge there. He suggested we meet up then can discuss further what we can do and so on. Would this friday evening be a good day? Don't really need everybody to go down. But maybe at least one of the AQ people (mods or editors and so on) to go down and discuss.[/quote:cf085ba5a9]

I can't attend this meeting as I am traveling this week.

Woah! Realised I did not leave behind an address or anything. Ok, those who can make it, please meet at Andrew and Grace Home at 1930hrs. The address is 119 Lorong K, Telok Kurau. Nearest MRT would be Eunos, still need to take a bus down but I'm not sure about that.

Anything, just sms me at 90119908, see you guys there!

Went down with Spilo to meet them on Friday.

First of all, its a "small" tank... 3'x2'x2'. So, unfortunately, we do not need so many ppl. What we do need are some equipment, plants and fishes. The tank and cabinet is already available. For the rest, we'll probably look into donations of equipment or money from forumers and/or sponsorship from LFS, also in money or goods. Will update on that later.

Currently, they are trying out fish breeding. So far I think they've bred goldfish, discus and angelfish. They have lots and lots of tanks. They also have guinea pigs and rabbits. They are looking at setting up a hydroponics farm too.

Many of you are eager to help, but too many for the planted tank. In terms of maintanance, its not a problem either. The residents will, and are suppose to do it themselves (with some training). So in view of that, we'll discuss with them about volunteers for other things.

    Hi Vinz,

So any updates on this? I've finished my reservist service to the nation and now have some time for more worthy causes.

I have some nice Moscow Blue guppies if they wanna consider breeding guppies.

This one is a small project and we're taking it slow as we have a few other things going on at the same time. Status:
    - Have found main sponsor for the project. Will announce when details are confirmed.
    - Have bought the driftwood and currently soaking.

    Hi guys,

just an update on this thread. Vinz and some volunteers have setup the tank on 28th March and we like to thank all the sponsers for their generosity.. namely, Teo Aquatic Plant Supplier, Gan Aquarium and Eco Culture and vinz for his kind donation of yamatos

We also like to thank Andrew and Grace Home for their hospitality. Nice to do some charity work :P makes you feel good after that?

Anyway, here are the pictures of our planted tank.

Apologies to those who volunteered to help and donate. The project was simply not big enough to involve so many ppl and most of it was done "on the fly"... i.e. got time we go down.

The planting and setup was done by myself and MrTree, who kindly availed himself at the last minute.

The tank was donated by an uncle of one of the residents.

Teo kindly sponsored all other hardware, substrate, and of course the plants. I had asked him to support a part of it, but he insisted on sponsoring everything.

Eco Culture helped with some shortfall of gravel (my own fault for mis-calculating) and I did not have time to drive all the back to Teo's. I had wanted to cover the shortfall out of my own pocket but Azmi (of EC) insisted on donating... saying it's a small gesture from the heart.

Gan donated the Cardinal Tetras. Gan has also donated many fishes, tanks and equipment to the home since way way before this project was ever mooted. (So much so that the home was a little paiseh to ask him for more, but it's AQ who's asking this time. Gan was more then happy to help.)
