    Trying my hands on rockscape.

Bought a bag of rocks and also chose a big piece..
Somehow that particular rock looks like a dinosaur head..
So a wild idea struck me.. hehe.

It's a bare tank at the moment, particularly at the background.
    Any suggestion guys?

FYI this is a low-tech tank, keeping shrimps.
    Ada New Amazonia soil.

    from Tampines Superstar Aquarium.

The young boss is super friendly. I think I got the rocks all at $20.. No idea what's the ID of the rock tho.

Looks like dragon rocks to me and it looks like you got a steal on the rocks!

Missing one thing - teeth. Maybe you can add some thin twigs or loose thin driftwood pieces as the "bones" and "teeth" fragments.

It's an interesting take on a scaped aquarium.

Haha! Thank you all. Honestly I don't even know if this can be considered a scape at all. Just a fun idea..

I'll see if i can dig up more loose rocks from the shop again, it should look better with similar colored rocks.

I'm just scratching my head wondering what to 'fill' the background with.

For the background, you can probably consider some giant hairgrass - Eleocharis montevidensis, or attempt to create a moss wall.

    Re: "Dino-Fossil" Rockscape

A very interesting scape bro. Thumbs up.
Perhaps a view on dinosaur fossils on google will give more ideas to improve on the fossil. Like front legs and hinds. Would be awesone to see it using merely rocks. Those rocks, I don't know what their names are, the name dragon rocks stucks to me though. Oh you know Stormhawk idea of hairgrass made me imagine, a grass plain everywhere and then out from the ground the fossils. Looks wicked!

The tampines shop? Just went there on Sunday for the first time. Young guy with his mom. Some hamsters, cat and dog stuffs. His tanks are really taken care of. Good lightings to show off and the rocks are placed neatly in 4 boxes. I don't see much Tetra products but the bags used for the items you purchase is using the Tetra bag. He will scotch tape the side of the plastic bag when you buy the fish. So for overall presentation and customer service, I give this shop a high thumbs up. Products, I shan't comment.

Sorry I OT, but a question to ask to those with Danio Margaritatus (Celestial Pearl Danio), I'm seeing some of this where the bottom of its body curves in. It looks weird. And its not one or two. A few LFS has them in that manner. While some looks "normal". It's like 50-50. What's the story? Is it defect through breeding? Or something I did not read about. Sorry no pictures, the critters are shy and small. Hard to take pictures with an iPhone. Don't beat me up. I'm just a noob. =P

hey VSGenesis, yes the customer service is actually what keeps me coming back to that shop. Very friendly guy, I think his name is Jackie. He even tape up the side of my bag which contained shrimps, just so they don't get stuck at the corners while transporting.

Looks like it'll be alot of rock hunting for the complete fossil! hehe

    nice rocks!!!

just my 2 cents, next time when you use back the rocks, try to make a steeper slope. maybe some rocks to support. its will look like some excavation site for dinosaurs fossil.

HAHA! Exactly right! I'm busy with D3!
Asia server is cranky though.. cannot log in one.

MY aquarium looks the same now, instead I'm populating them with CPO.
CPOs seem to be slowly feasting on my CRS and Sakura tho..

    I'll revert with photos soon!

    Hello CPO!

4 Critters in my tank. They are shy when first introduced to the tank.. However they are slowly becoming little terrors! Even my brave Yamato is afraid of them!
