Eh its been known for a while that its possible to breed in home aquaria. How long ago was this thread you read that says its not possible?
Came across reading in this forum that it's not possible for assassin snails to breed in a home aquarium.
I was surpised that my assassin snails managed to do that.
How many can you spot in this photo?

Oh really? My bad. I only came across the posting that someone said cannot and after that did not chance upon such topic again. And that was last year, but that posting might have been many years ago.
Anyway they are nice surpises to me![]()

Given good water parameters, as long as the fauna finds it ideal, breeding miracles begin.
Hey Fishy!!! Your So Fine; Your So Fine; You Blow My Mind
Ongoing Food Cultures: Vinegar Eels; Grindal Worms; Microworms; and hopefully more
Anyway congratulations on the spawn! I can't keep them cause I like my tylos, which they seem to prefer over ramshorn![]()
Mine breed in the past also while in a 2 feet tank filled with ramhorns & pouch snails.
They were happily breeding during that time.

Assassins will breed in fresh water, although I suspect that they need a diet of fresh meat. It's nerite snails that cannot breed in home aquaria.
The majority of the egg cases deposited by Assassins sometimes do not hatch successfully. My Assassins laid the cases all over the place, especially under driftwood, but since the pH of the tank was closer to 5.8, none hatched, or so it seems because I never found any juveniles running about. I think they need water around pH 7 or higher to successfully hatch. In any event, the adults died out soon after their favorite prey snails, in my case, ramshorns, were exterminated by them.
Fish.. Simply Irresistable
Back to Killies... slowly.
