    Need help identifying the following snail. Think it is a ramshorn or apple?

    Read somewhere it is the worst kind of snails as they breed like rabbits

    Not necessary to remove them. Red Ramshorn are pretty nice snails to have around in fry tanks etc. If you need something to control their numbers, the use of Assassin Snails is a good choice.
