I only keep 3 of the broad cichlid species before and they are Apisto, Ram and Kribs. In my experience with them, they are still quite aggressive and defend their territory when they are spawning or have young fry. My ram ever killed several guppies because they ventured too near to their spawning site. And there was once that I did a foolish experiment of putting the ram with caca triple red, and the caca challenge the ram and chase it all around the tank before I net out the ram. My Kribs parent and fry are keep alone in a one feet tank but I read that they can tear apart any apisto with ease and I have no intention of proving it.
Anyone else with anything to share about their cichlid aggressive and tough/hardy experiences?
