Help in MH lights

Hi bros, I would like to seek help in MH lights.My tank is 5 FT and is now only using PL lights. i will need 2,preferly the hang on ceiling type.Can someone advice ...

1. the price range?
2. Wattage?
3. where can i get them?

I suggest if you have a nice tank and you want nice lights go look at eg: arcadia, gieseman, aqualine etc

Sad to say is that such commerical MH setup cost the same price as some planted tank setup combined.....

E.g Arcadia Metal Halide Slimline Series for 4 ft + cost 2.5K+++ = a complete 4ft planted custom tank with fishes(lots of expensive one too) and high quality cabinet or half the price of a reef tank setup....

DIY cuts the price to about one fifth.... but it's a hassle to do it. Way to go if money is a problem, especially in this current economic situation...

Oh by the way, if branding and "quality" is not an issue, WEIPRO(China) has a metal halide series costing around 800 to 1000 bucks.....

For your recommendation....

Get 3 x 150 W or 2 x 250 metal halides for your 5 ft set up......

Price for branded pendant/hanging type e.g Arcadia cost around $2600 to $3000. If planted gets 5200 or 6500 MH , if reef gets 10K or 14K Kelvin bulbs...

Price for "non-aquarium" or lighting shops..... around $1 K. Ask your local lighting shops for quotation....Remember to ask for bulbs in the correct colour range.
