The common ones are HC and Glosso.

They are nice. But must wait. Slow growth. Wongce started when he was 16, now he's 40. LOL.

Do take pictures and let us see bro. We can learn from it.

    Haha,i started at 10 and now i am 25...lol.

Grandmaster VGS,i am a lot younger than you...since you have more than 50 years experience in keeping fish.

It took approx 2 months plus in high light and 2-3bps of co2 to achieve carpeting...looks nice..But they are slow starter..

hc can be very nice. but need to be careful when buying in emersed form and planting in submerged form. may have a high casualty rate if not enough CO2 or lighting

actually glosso also can. but either way, if u want a good carpeting effect, you need high light high co2

You can get it online from Mizuworld. I bought mine there. Elatine Triandra a.k.a APP will creep low under strong light but if you like small plants/leaves HC is better, in my opinion

Thanks Mossboos for your input. i benefitted from your post and did abit of research on APP. seems like it's the kind of forground plant that i will like. and apparently it's able to grow in a low-tech setup as well.

i got a cup of it from Sea View at $4.50, they also have in on display at their tanks near the corner that they sell tubing. Seeing it in real life made me double confirm that those were that kind that i wanted.

    Cheers all.

Re: what kind of plants to do the carpet

I'm sure you can get app from any LFS near you if you're staying far from sea view. You just got to order from them and see when they will deliver.

Frankly, it doesn't take much to grow HC. You just need the right conditions, ie the money, and the patience to grow HC well.
Apparently APP seems to be an easy plant to grow, so I'm trying it out.

Sadly I have taken the app out of the container to plant it, else could take a picture for you for easy identification. I can take a picture of the container though, it is placed in a special container.

It looks like this, it's a this "Special" containers, with a little hole in the centre, while others are just in plastic bags or tupperwares. quite easy to identify.

Best would be to know it's actual name instead of tell them "Ah Pek Plant" and give you the face..

Was the condition of the app good when you got them?
Went seaview several times but the ones i saw looked like chopped up.
