Shrimp: none ( not recommended)
Seriously bro, just keep the shrimp at home.
Hi All,
I am in the means of setting up a pico tank in office. Due to some restrictions, will not be using any electricity for the tank.
Tank:15x15x20cm
Fliter: none ( not even air pump)
Light: none (office light)
Gravel: some brown n round gravel, No soil. ( is soil needed? Know soil good for buffering Ph)
Chiller: none (office air-conditioning on 5 1/2days, around 25°c I think)
Plants: Nana on DW, and a plant which looks like hornworth (think I spell wrongly)
Faruna: think of FRS, or yellow cousin, or betta or cpo.
Test kit: none
Objective: to have a very low and simple maintenance tank..and boss will not make noise.
Before I got shoot like the tua his tub buddy, please let me explain. For shrimps intend to keep any 5 adults Max. Any advise of which to keep? If office allow in the future, will shift my unused iq3 or iq5 and setup..
I read a few brothers had setup similar size tanks for shrimps before, so seeking advise. Looking to feed like once every 2-3 days to cut down on waste.
Looking forward for some good advise. Please do not ask me to check tank size.. that's all the area I can spare before boss make noise..

I also shut down my office tank (2ft planted) when SCDF declared it a fire hazard. When I asked why, they said the canister filter is the most common cause of fire in HDB. I looked at my Eheim 2226 and wondered if they are talking about cheapo China made canisters. But no point arguing with SCDF.
If I cannot run a proper filtration, I rather not have a tank at all.
For a totally bare pico, I suggest just keeping a marimo ball. Many people in my workplace switched to that after they too got their tanks unplugged by SCDF
You can try keeping those bottled shrimp available at CRS haven .. Those you dont need anything .. Just leave it there ..

Bro, those shrimps need care too. There are many threads on this topic and the general consensus is that it is a cruel way to keep Hawaii shrimps. From an average life span of 20 years, they normally die in a year in those bottles. For the kind of price those bottles cost, I think its better to just set up a home tank.
I agree with Cheetf that the only thing that can tolerate this kind of condition would be a betta fish.
No shrimps recommended . Bettas onlyBUT the temperature fluctuation worries me for even the Bettas XD
how about sea monkeys or tripos if you insist on no filtration?

i believe just plus one more will not make a different right hahaha rather than restrict yourself in the hobby why not make it happen and enjoy it.
Office is never a good place to keep our hobby either condition issue or itcy hand issue or WORSE the BOSS having a issue of you using their power.
