I presently keeping a 2ft tank. Wishing to upgrade to a 4ft. Any advice to where to look for? I looking for those with simple but cool one with cabinet (preferbly darker wood) at the bottom, and with approx 10mm thick glass. Saw one at a shop which cost S$800. I can't find nice ones at LFS here, or maybe i did not search hard enough. Please help. Thanks!!

i would definitely recommend far east aquatics ...
go take a look at the showroom above their shop ...
very classy modern contemporary look ...

im in no way affiliated though ... just a satisfied customer

I am looking for a 4ft too.... asked N.A... all tanks are sealed with black silicon...
4x2x2 with cabinet is = $900
4x1.5x1.5 with cab is = $750
Hope this helps... if a quotation from Far EAst is available that would be helpful too....
Thanks ! The suggestions were most helpful. That's what m looking for, modern comtemporary look and black silicon sealant. Suspect m going to check it out this weekend.
By the way, pardon me, but whats the address for N.A (Nature Aquarium?Balestier?) and FAr East Aquatic?

						Hi jljx
Just been to Far East Aquatic. Lady quoted $1300 for a 4 ft by 2 ft by 2 ft, 12 mm all round. Height of cabinet can be either 2.5 or 3 ft. And yes, cabinet looks cool - with rounded corners.
Not sure whether there's discount for AQ member.
Btw, what's the glass thickness for NA's tank?

Please take note that Far East Aquatic tanks comes with a unique features where your inlet and outlet tubes actually comes through directly from the bottom of your tank. So you don't see long filter tubings running from the back of the tank.

Took the afternoon off today to shop for a 5x2x2 ft tank. Heeded you guys' advice and travelled all the way to Far East. The lady owner was throughout on the phone and had no time for me. Directed me upstairs but no one was there to advice or quote. Went down after 10 mins and she was still on the phone... uninterested in closing sales. After a total of 20min, I left the place a pissed man.
Looks like I will have to spend my money elsewhere.

Anyone know if the 4X2X2 tanks at either shop have a centre brace (that flat piece of glass running over the top that holds the fornt and back pieces together)? I'm looking for a tank without this brace, 'cos I'm planning to place the tank a bit low and have an open top. The centre brace is unsightly for a tank like this. Thanks.
I bought my 4 x 1.5 x 2 with 8mm glass and 10mm base for $150.
Cheers
Vincent
