PH Meter Vs PH Liquid (kindly advice)

Hi all bros& sis,

Just to Enquire from your experience which type of test kit is better and accurate.

2)Do all PH meter require calibration and which type of brand is the most user friendly?

Yes oh ph meter more accurate. Calibration is done maybe once or twice a month.

Snails (cannot change)
Pinpoints ( can change for batteries and plug type)
Weipros (can change)
Petfrans ( can change also for batteries and plug type)

For PH liquids test kits you will have to depend on your eyes and judgement. From experience sometimes the results appear as a colour in between.

For APi test kits it goes down only to 6.0 I believe.

For Sera test kits it goes below 6.0 but it goes at 0.5 intervals after that.

Test kits are good when you need to confirm your ph meter readings but can be prettty frustrating and difficult to use.

Bro. To calibrate a pH meter, you need at least a 2 point calibration.
Use pH 7 to first "zero" the readings to let the unit know what is the kind of voltage it should receive at "zero".
Next use either pH4 or 10 to adjust the "slope", which tells the meter how much voltage change is needed to move the pH from 7 to 4 or 10.

It really shouldn't matter but I prefer to choose the pH calibration based on the pH range I am expecting to measure most of the time. Acidic or alkaline.

After that, recheck at pH 7 to make sure that the base "zero" is still accurate. Sometimes, when changing to a new probe or trying to calibrate a very old one, the base will go off again after adjusting the slope.
If after adjusting the zero and slope a few times, and the probe still cannot display 7 & 4/10 when placed in the calibration fluid without changing the calibration again, it means you need to replace the probe.

got to check sometimes no stock at c328 but you can ask uncle or aunty when stock available. 3 weeks ago i saw 2 pcs available but don't whether still have.

If you are only looking for those that you occasionally use to take readings, those are called pH pens.

I am currently using a PH Meter that constantly tells the PH value live. I can say that it is quite accurate because whenever i'm free, my itchy hands would pick up the meter from the tank and test the reading on the calibration solution. The value won't run-off so fast. The only time it gives weird values was when the battery is flat.

And i got this from eBay from a HK seller. This PH Meter also has an option for you to connect to a power adapter so that you won't need to use batteries anymore.
