You can DIY with a 2W bulb. I used one in the past and it was very dim.
Hi all. I've been looking around for a dim lightset. Any idea where i get my hands on a set? Not really meant for growing plants, just for viewing. The current 7Watts DIY i'm using on the tank still look brightI wanna create a dim lighted aquarium environment
Saw a super small led hanging on the aquatic plant display tank on polyart (top section) but i was not able to take a picture of it
I've got the Dymax robot LED but it died down less 2 months usage :/

Fish.. Simply Irresistable
Back to Killies... slowly.
Brightness is a relative thing.
In total darkness, even a single-diode LED is glaringly bright. If you intend for the tank to be lit in the hours of total darkness, then even a built-in red neon light in some power plugs is enough to illuminate a tank beautifully. But first, as stormhawk suggested, you should try the lower wattage light. which I think should be sufficient for your purpose.
LIFE IS UNBEARABLE WITHOUT A FISH TANK!!!
The aluminum look pendant led light?
The price not too costly, it's jut a simple led light

Oh, I saw it at PolyArt just now but didn't ask the price. It's by the brand Up-Aqua. & according to specs, it is a decently-strong 1-watt diode. The usual LED clamping-lamp u see are usually 0.66watt. But still depending on how big a tank you wish to illuminate, I cannot tell if it will be dim; I suppose the height of the pendant isn't adjustable. I saw it for sale at another fish shop (not PolyArt) for more than $20 (Unsure if I'm supposed to reveal exact prices here).
I think 25-30 to memory. Cost more then the cheaper models.
But seriously speaking. It's a nice design (neglecting the wattage)
Raliart. You can pm him. If your not sure.

Alright. Many thanks for the input guys. Going to source for one
@ralliart - I was only going to use it only to illuminate a GEX M tank. As I converted it from a shrimp tank to a nano blackwater tank, i don't require strong lighting, just enough to see the fishes in the dark and also considered it as my bedside lighting![]()
