Hey I was wondering if anyone could tell me the types of freshwater crabs? Stricly fresh. And of you at all know of they can be bred in captivity?

    I know of the:
    geosesarma sp bicolor
    gsp vampire
gsp krathen and I think notophorum

any other anyone can add. I have sesarmop intermedium but I'm pretty sure brackish.

i think all crabs from the genus geosesarma are freshwater (not sure whether all are, but most of them are). As to whether they can be bred in captivity, as long as you provide the right conditions, they can all be bred in captivity.

Some other crabs will be lepidothelphusa sp., thaksinthelphusa sp., metasesarma aubryi (Requires saltwater for zoea to develop). There are many others, but these are some of the more common ones.

Could you suggest a proper set up. I have a set up right now that I think is right of you would take a look. If you go to YouTube and Tyler tyguyvivs it's under that name. I'm two weeks in and males and females don't even look at eachother.

Yup, saw your setup it looks good. I would say that there is nothing wrong with the setup.

In addition, you said that your males and females dont even look at each other, but that is actually because they are most active at night, when the lights are off, hence when you are viewing them in the day they might seem inactive. Dont worry, as long as they coexist happily without fighting, mating will soon occur.
