This morning went to my tank and saw an old berried female mama 'passed on'..
She stayed in the same position since last night but she was still struggling so I never disturb her but could tell that she might not survive..
She been with me for about a year now so all I could do is to save her offspring..

This is what I did... Let's hope these little 'eyed' fellas could make it... Removed them from the mama with a small spoon.. And in they go...

I also hope they all survive... They are all 'eyed' so survival shouldn't be an issue.. Just how many...

The net you can get from Petmart...

Try to increase aeration in the tank so that oxygen levels go higher. With adequate water movement and good oxygenation, the shrimplets will hatch in due course.

Congrats bro Alvin for your success. I try once taken out from tank into a container. Aerated them with syringe 1 day interval but does not work all started to have mould on them.
Enjoying every mins of the process. Happy Shrimping.

Try not to take them out of the tank.. Provide them with water from tank and keep them there with a nice flow.. If turn moldy then no choice.. We just want to save as much as possible.. Good luck...

Hi bro, i've tried your method before which i read from somewhere. And all the eggs turned rotten. These are sakura eggs. I guess they needed constant aeration and not once a day.
My 2nd attempt was to put the eggs inside the mineral water bottle, poke the bottle with small holes, put in some plants and air pump to aerate the water. The plants act as a cushion if the aeration is too strong. And yes, i've succeeded this time. But the success rate is like 10% from my experience.

I dont think that aeration is the only way to do this. You need a constant flow too.

I agree, the success rate is quite slim, a futile effort in many cases. It all depends how soon you managed to retrieve the eggs after the shrimp has died. Most of the time it's been dead too long. After you manage to get the eggs out you have to worry about the mould.
Once mould sets in that's it.

    Re: Mission to artificial hatch

1 trick to share, NEVER handle the eggs with your fingers, use sewing needles to scrape out the eggs. remove all the flesh or shells that is sticked on the egg ( this is kinda tricky, you might need 2 sewing needles).
