Mostly a cherry or Sakura baby...
Should be from the packaging you purchase those crayfish or plants.
Any picture to show?
I found a tiny little shrimp in my tank!!!!
No idea where it came from!
(I've a crayfish and some 5 cherry barbs.)
I don't know much about shrimp, but this is a tiny little thing. Like 2 - 3mm.
Red in colour.
But not a solid red. More like translucent with red spots.
Cute little thing.
I have some driftwood sitting on river stones. Lots of hiding space.
So this shrimp has been pretty successful at hiding from all of us.
But when it came out, it happily swam all about for quite a while.
It could only have come with the plants?
And that was ages ago.
And I rinsed them out before placing in the tank.
I'm just baffled at how it came to be here.

Oooo be careful. It might lead to accidental poisoning...... Shrimp poison!!!!! Hahahaha
Congratulations, only thing I get as hitchikers are snails![]()

The other hobbies I'm referring to are not related to fish.
Heh heh.
And since this is an aquatic forum, I shan't elaborate on them.
Haven't seen the shrimp for a few days and thought it might be gone.
But this morning, it came out from hiding to feast on my molted crayfish's shell.
Tried taking photos, but it just looks like a blur red patch.

Try the magnifying glass trick. Quite good.
Hmmm.. Just 1 shrimp not poisonous enough![]()

After 10 days of no sighting, the shrimp came out!
And we got photos!
Can anyone tell me what kind of shrimp this is?
Looks like a cherry to me.
Need something to scratch that itchy hand of mine.
Don't act smart. Be smart!
Careful then. The shrimp might die from shock during molting if the crayfish chases it during the process. Then again, as long as the cherry has good enough hiding spots, I don't see why it wouldn't survive. Try get some companionship for the loner![]()

No more companions!!!!!
Absolutely no more space for more pets in my house.
Just got 5 bettas. (About to post photos)
So that's 5 more tanks, albeit small ones.
If the shrimp survives, I'll be glad.
But for now, I view it as pretty crayfish food.
Just like the cherry barbs.

don't worry... i'm sure your cherry shrimp will do well. they are really quite nimble.
how's your cray doing with the cherry barbs?
The cherry barbs are still alive!
Just spotted the shrimp 2 days ago. It's grown a little more.

Good luck to your unusually guests.![]()
