Sorry. Its not very clear, but you have no filter or pump for water movement?
Recently i recondition one of my 2 feet tank which leak water into a feeder tank... (re-silicon and tested no leakage)...
I used to put small stones and sand as base with around 50g of biohome.. water was clean and stable even without WC for a month.
Now the new setup without stone and sand, only wool and biohome as filtration, the water is cloudy and i had few feeders casualty every day..(although i throw the dead feeders to my leopard cat, so no wastage) but i want to improve the water quality...
Any bro can suggest (with less than $10), what bio media i can add that is suitable for such setup ?
By the way, the water only cycled for less than a week... and my objective is to have less WC for this feeder tank.
Should i add seacheam matrix ? Soil substrate ?
I try not to use small stones as substrate because catching the feeder is very troublesome with the stone substrate which i have done before....
(Pardon me for such a lengthy texts..)

More than ONE fish = Fish
More than ONE species of fish = Fishes
May i know which part is not clear ?
Yes have a built-in OHF with pump and using fake magic clean wool as mechanical filter, changed wool every 2 days.
Anyway, i have added some stones to my OHF (those stones that were used before in the tank as base.) Will wait for a week more before committing any further changes, maybe BB is still not establish.
