Yup, Ive put them together with my tetras and yamato shrimps before =) careful though, give them tonnes of places to hide and create their own territory, honestly I would only limit myself to around 3-5 in the 4ft tank =)

A group of 3-4 Rams can easily conquer a 4 ft tank. As what Nic88 says, with sufficient hiding places, it's possible, especially where the Yamato are concerned. As for the tetras, they are perfectly fine with Rams.
Fish.. Simply Irresistable
Back to Killies... slowly.

Neon is ok. If alot of foliage yamato should not be an issue.
By nature rams will disturb smaller fauna. IMO it will target yamato more then smaller fish.

Thank you for your advice.
Currently no one buying the younger ones so no place to put them except my 4ft tank.
The older ones are trying to spawn so need to move the younger ones out.
