Hi fellows, may I know that besides the "common" water lily, are there any other (stem) plants that easily flower above the water surface?

Some of the Echinodorus species will readily flower above the water surface too. Try E. cordifolius.

@stormhawk, I had looked through some photos of Echinodorus cordifolius; is it difficult to make it grow tall? It looked short & stumpy (but still broad-leaved) from the photos on Google. Btw, is it readily available in local market?

Yes it's readily available. I occasionally see it being sold in single bags at C328. It is capable of being grown emersed but it will flower in the aquarium if the flower stalk can go out of the water. With a rich substrate, CO2 and adequate lighting it should grow pretty tall. There are other species of swordplants and other aquatics that will readily flower if given the right conditions.

Oh, that's great news, because I'm also looking for reddish hue plants as well, & to have one that flowers, is a convenience.

Ludwigia inclinata is in my list of plant consideration; I just didn't realize it flowers. The other plant, I have not heard of.
