Your photo is too blurred to make an accurate ID but I will try my best :

    1) the tall lance-like ones ont he right - I think this is Potamogeton sp. Very fragile with nice lace-like leaves. I bought a plant from Keong Seong sometime back.
    2) the short ones in front of no. 1 - Probably Blyxa japonica
    3) the fern like ones near er the front - Hygrophila difformis
    4) the one between tonina and no. 1 (looks like tou miao) - too blurred to id. Maybe Hydrocotyle sp

Thanks all for helping, I uploaded slightly better pics (I hope) already.
Hopefully can get a more confirmed ID.

BTW, the no. 2 should be the leafy one in front of Blyxa japonica, I forgot abt the Blyxa japonica in front of the lance-like plant.

    Thanks again!

That is better. No 2 is Hygrophila corymbosa, maybe 'Comapcta'.

No 4 looks like Bacopa sp.

    Thanks Gan CW!

That really helped a lot. I think I can more or less conclude already, based on you guys' professional help and some searching on tropica and australianrainbowfish websites... (pls correct me if I'm wrong ok?)

    1) the tall lance-like ones on the right - Potamageton Malaianus
    2) the short ones in front of no. 1 - Hygrophilia corymbosa "kompact"
    3) the fern like ones near er the front - Hygrophila difformis
    4) the one between tonina and no. 1 (looks like tou miao) - Bacopa monnieri

I'm amazed how you guys can remember and id so many scientific names! cool! .

The challenge now for me is to scape this whole bunch to look better! I think Potamageton Malaianus (lance) grows way too fast, even for my low-maint tank (1.5wpg, no CO2) such that it grows to water surface and shades the other plants. Bacopa also grows pretty quickly, how do I trim it? I hope my low-maint tank doesn't become a med or high maint tank soon!

    Thanks guys, really great help!

Pls help me to ID these plants

I am pretty sure that it is not Bacopa monnieri. Bacopa monnieri is more sturdy looking and have thicher stems like most Bocapas. Also, the shade of green is wrong. IMO, I think the plant is Lindernia roundifolia. Note, there is a variegated form for this plant. yours isnt the variegated form.

think Potamageton malaianus and H. kompact can be bought at Bioplast or ordered from most shps. P. malaianus IME grows rather quickly and will drift on water surface. Might want to take note of that. H. corybomsa compact sold are usually emersed. the leave colours are lovely, but they will shed that when submerged. Nice slow growers they are though!

It should be Micranthemum umbrosum rather than Bacopa monnieri.

Yo, I got everything there from Ah Pek's Farm, except for the tonina, which someone gave me to try while trimming his tank.

Thinking of getting some realy low forground plants, those that run laterally instead of upwards, any recommendations for my low-maint tank? I already have some moss.

    Thanks!

    Yo Checkerboard,

think you are right, Lindernia roundifolia it most likely is. AQ database only has the "variegated " version, how're they different, in terms of demands and requirements?. AQ says "full sun"! I hope the non-variegated version is less demanding 'cos I certainly cannot supply "full-sun" :P Some other websites states "medium to high"

H.Corymbosa Kompact can be bought at Teos. Potamageton malaianus can be bought at Keong Seong or come cut it off my tank....it is to tall that it floats on the surface, round the circumference of the tank and floating towards the filter....terrible...

    Cheers

I have the same problem with it, esp for my smallish 2ft tank, it shades the lower level plants quite a bit, and I frequently have to trim it. Dunno how to deal with it also. Quite surprised at the rate of growth actually, esp for my low-maint tank...
