Bga is the blue green algae that is a type of bacteria due to excess nutrients, poor water circulation, lights etc.

    Re: My Upcoming 3ft Journal

Thanks Shadow and Felix , the Eheim 2213 was for my 2ft since i on budget this i will put for 2nd tier which is purely shrimp since shrimp does not like strong current so i guess it will be better for them. Anyway is 700L flow rate enough for my 3ft bioload ?

    Re: My Upcoming 3ft Journal

    1) Your plan for the fauna is too many
    2) The filter as mentioned will not take the bioload.

    Do reconsider.

    1) The theme you envision
    2) Rocks should be in the same tone
    3) The plants you will have in the tank
    4) If you are having plants, plan your CO2 setup
    5) I see you are running a bubble curtain. If you have plants that would increase loss of CO2
    6) By guide, you have 3W per gallon (guess that's fine)
    7) Purchase a filter that is more than enough for your 3ft and no 700l is not good enough for your 3ft.
Remember to cycle your tank. Do not skip this. You're using ADA, ammonia in the water will be more than 8.0

If you still add the fauna you have plan, that is entirely up to you. But prepare for deaths. It's like cooking. You add too many spices and ingredients, the food taste like crap.

    Re: My Upcoming 3ft Journal

Thanks Vsgenesis for the time to giving me advice ,

I guess i shall reduce the bioload to ,

    50 Cardinal Tetra
    30 Rummy-nose Tetra
    30 Assassin Snail
    12 Different Cory
6 Golden Eater (After tank mature)
    20 Otto (After tank mature)
    12 Yamato Shrimp
    60 Sakura Shrimp

    1) Theme for first tier will be more like a tree not sure how to explain out
    2) The rock are for my 2tier and i notice the color tone after i wash brush all the mud out , may i know are these dragon rock ?
    3) Plant have not decided yet but i already have some plant in my mind as my shrimp tank will be a moss tank.
    4) Ya got my 5l solenold tank ready and a 2l manual tank.
5)The bubble certain i temporary put there as i soaking my stuff inside as to prevent mosquito to breed.
7)Any recommend how much flowrate do i need for my first tier ? As my 2 tier is purely for shrimp .

    Re: My Upcoming 3ft Journal

    Yup Dragon rocks.

As for filter, debatable. My personal guide is one to two tier higher. I can't remember where I read it but some folks are using 10 times as guide line. I go with 5x. I have a 3 feet tank (planted with fauna), using Eheim Pro 3 2073. That's 1050l/h. For Classics I am not sure. Something with similiar flowrate

CO2. 5L tank is enough. If you are supplying to two tanks, just get a splitter. Cost saving there.

The bubble curtain at the back is nice. Reminds me of a time more than a decade ago. I helped my dad install it for his arowana tank. Lights shining at the back of the tank. Coloured plastic. It's cool. Different light colour shining at the back.

Well, the fauna numbers is up to you. I'm just laying what i know and have had experience. As a kid, I learned a valuable lesson on overloading. Overloading plus under filtration = death. I had death on average 1-2 each day until it got stable. In the end I had 22 deaths.

My previous 3ft which was decom two months ago had 50 C.Tetra, 12 Rummy Nose, 3 SAE and 5 Otto. My water parameters, Ammonia: 0, Nitrite: 0, Nitrate: 10 I suggest a slow introduction of the fish. Add 10-15 each week or something like that. Don't add all at once.

Can I check why you want 60 assassin snail?
You mention shrimp tank, I assume more shrimp regardless of grade. So suppose you know adult rummynose are pretty big and cherries and Sakura are small and make nice snacks.
Rocks will depend if you want high grade from shrimps above crs, as rocks will affect water parameters. But of course no stopping you from trying. Your pocket will hurt more then your heart.

FYI: I have 70-100 cherries and 6-7 boreas in a 2 feet. Can't really tell I have that much in there until feeding time.

My advice, no need so many assassin snail & Yamato. 10 assassin and 15 Yamato alot to me.

You might have issues during adding of livestock. Like VSGenesis, seeing deaths daily IF filtration is not mature or too little for bioload.
