Hi, here's the plant in question:

anybody knows what its scientific name is? I want to order the plant, hence need to identify it more deterministically.

Thank you Yee Seng. To be honest, I do not think the shop owner will be able to provide the specific scientific names; & in my "ordering catalog", there are 4 species of lotus. I am unable to identify the one in the photo above, from the book, as the 4 photos in the book doesn't show the flowering form.

Don't mind if I ask an amateurish question: I can't just purchase a flowered unit to plant into my tank if my tank's water level exceeds that of the length of the plant right? The flower will just rot away underwater right?

Flowers will just rot away, the question is how long.

Perhaps I should re-phrase, if I simply plant an already-flowering specimen completely underwater, it will be an immediate waste of effort right? I have to plant a yet-to-flower specimen & let it flower above the water level in time, right?
